Function : Provide legal representation and advice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on product and service design and implementation wit! h an emphasis on consumer deposit products and services.
Manage one or more attorneys.
Research and analyze legal issues and render legal opinions.
Identify legal and other risk issues and advise client on same.
Provide legal support to Compliance area on regulatory compliance matters.
Maintain current knowledge of, and prepare analyses and responses to, legislative, regulatory and industry developments in relevant areas.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
A candidate for entry into this position must have a Juris Doctorate or equivalent from accredited law school. This position requires the ability to apply and/or interpret a specialized field composed of technical or general business principles, practices and techniques.
Requires at least four years legal experience (3 years for Counsel II) in the area of consumer regulatory matters. Experience in consumer deposit products and serv! ices required. Experience with payment systems and online and ! electronic banking a plus.
Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Requires ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision and to take initiative in problem solving.
