MAJOR FUNCTION

  • Responsible for the Biophysics Platform in the newly formed California Agile Lab that will focus on enhancing collaborations w! ith Universities and Start-ups in California in the area of:
  • Biophysics and mechanical properties of skin in-vitro and in-vivo
  • Cellular and Molecular Imaging with novel techniques
  • Non-invasive Imaging technologies for the clinic
  • The candidate is expected to build a research network and to manage research programs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Identify and propose California based external experts and/or CROs for potential collaborations
  • Responsible for searching and supporting external collaborations in the area of biophysics, bioelectronics, and imaging (non-invasive and biological) based in California which will new novel methods for evaluation of product efficacy in-vitro and in-vivo.
  • Enhance current collaborations in California in the area of Biophysics and co-develop new technologies with Universities and Start-ups
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high potential, for establishment of exter! nally research programs to support/contribute to the advanceme! nt of internally interdisciplinary projects.
  • Coordinate projects between L’Oréal laboratories and external collaborators
  • Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying and proposing solutions to issues that may arise during the course of a research project
  • Interface with business development, contract, and patent attorneys to execute contracts and patents
  • Approximately 20 - 30% travel
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. with 1-5 years work experience with expertise in physics, optics, or electrical engineering
  • Advanced knowledge in relevant scientific and technical field, preferably in imaging and/or biophysics of soft tissues and cells
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies in a specific field of expertise, and an initial strong network of external technical experts with a focus on California Universities
  • Intermediate knowledge of! product innovation and development processes
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills.
  • Multi-lingual skills desirable
  • Must be legally eligible work in the US on an on-going basis.
