The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Registrar for the Air Force judge Advocate GeneralÂ's School (AFJAGS) with full responsibility for all activities encompassing the processing and maintenance of academic files/records of students and managing the AFJAGS Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program and Law Library.

·

Serves as technical advisor to the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Course Directors, and Division Chiefs on all registrar matters.

·

Serves as the AF JAG manager for the training portion of the Air Force military personnel data system and JAG academic programs.

Performs duties as AF JAG School Law Librarian utilizing the JAG law library program.

·

Accreditation Coordinator for the AFJAG School Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program.

·

Serves as the Academic Records and Files Custodian; and, prepares various scheduling and miscellaneous related documents.

·

Represents the AFJAGS officially at meetings and conferences concerned with registrar functions, and other activities falling within the sphere of responsibility.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent.

Specialized experience must include k

nowledge of Academic Records sufficient to serve as technical advisor to top management on the application of directives and regulatory materials pertaining to students; specific knowledge of the Judge Advocate GeneralÂ's School academic mission, objectives, programs, and projects to provide data and supporting historical reference ensuring the command receives all information to reach an accurate and quality decision when meting objectives and using resources.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.

The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of all aspects of a military educational institution with emphasis on attorney/paralegal training, legal publications, continuing education and record keeping.

·

Knowledge of statistical analyses principles, techniques, and practices.

·

Skill in interacting with a wide variety of people in a tactful and diplomatic manner.

·

Skill in application of computer databases, and to use office automation tools and techniques to retrieve, design, and generate reports, briefing materials, and other documents.

·

Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts and draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems and identify changes and trends.

·

Ability to develop and organize written material used AF JAG School wide in the administration of student records and in providing up-to-date information on the Continuing Education and other related programs.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE

:

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

:

The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary or permanent duty assignments.

Travel away from the normal duty station by military or regular scheduled commercial carrier may be required for TDY purpose.

·

Incumbent will attend local, regional and national meetings on graduate JAG education matters that affect policies at the Air Force Judge Advocate GeneralÂ's School.
