Southern Nuclear is leading the nuclear renaissance by building the first new U.S. nuclear reactors in more than 25 years. The two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors currently under construction at Plant Vogtle, scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2017 and 2018, will require more than 850 personnel to safely and reliably operate. We have an opportunity available for a Contracts Compliance Coordinator - Nuclear Development in our in Birmingham, AL office.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position will report to the SNC Nuclear Development Contracts Com! pliance Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY
This position! is within the SNC Nuclear Development Contracts Compliance Management (CCM) organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to support CCM and Southern Company project personnel in assuring compliance with the Vogtle 3&4 Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Agreement.
In addition, this position will perform a variety of duties relating to the Commercial functions associated with the project and will provide a resource for various questions and inquiries associated with all other Vogtle related contracts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead or support interfacing with project personnel, contractors or third parties to identify, communicate, negotiate and resolve Commercial issues. Leadership and support role is dependent on the scope/scale of the issue.
Provide CCM and project personnel with analysis/recommendations relating to Contractor Change Requests, Contract Amendments and other Commercial items including, but not limited to! : change proposals, estimates, specifications, terms and conditions.
Maintain the CCM Contract Compliance tracking system to assure Owner and Contractor deliverables are met per the EPC agreement.
Lead or support Contracts Compliance Management change initiatives as required including the development/revision of policies, procedures and guidelines as required.
Coordinate with appropriate business units and Contractors to ensure that change initiatives are understood, aligned and successful.
Assure oversight and enforcement of Confidential & Proprietary information protection controls.
Provide support to SNC Nuclear Development Procurement organization in the development and negotiation of Contracts and Purchase Orders.
Provide review and analysis of Contractor invoices and other payment documentation associated with the project.
Facilitate preparation, review, approval and tracking of formal Project Correspondence and Notices.
Develop and del! iver effective training presentations to ensure employees understand an! d comply with the EPC Contract and related contract compliance procedures and guidelines.
Maintain various databases, programs, systems, and other tools and controls to aid in the administration of and compliance with the EPC Agreement and other contracts relating to the Vogtle Project.
Utilize Maximo to initiate Purchase Order requests and run queries and reports. Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by the Contract Compliance Supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education :
Job Experience and Education:
B.S. in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Advanced degree is a plus.
Contract administration experience is required (engineering, construction, procurement contracts experience preferred).
Experience in the nuclear industry preferred, but not required.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access is required.
Experience with Maxim! o preferred.
