Job Description
The Consumer Asset Specialist is responsible for resolving loan errors identified during internal and external review processes by obtaining and! documenting information needed to satisfy requirements. The Consumer Asset Specialist must also ensure final loan documentation meets Compass, purchasing investor, and agency salability requirements according to standard document and data checklists.
Job Function
Assess loan review results to determine the scope of the loan error
Validate loan error and communicate incorrect findings
Identify and execute the best course of action to resolve errors in order for the loan to be booked, sold or to prevent repurchase
Utilize the LOS and imaging system to track, document and close exceptions
Make direct contact with closing agent/attorney, borrower(s), title insurer or branch when required
Perform at a level that meets or exceeds production requirements
Adhere to professional and ethical standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications ( Knowledge, Skills and Abilities )
Knowledge of conventional, gov! ernment and non-conforming loan products
Familiarity wi! th closing documents such as the: Note, Mortgage, Truth-In-Lending, Title, HUD-1, Right to Cancel, Hazard and Flood Insurance documentation and Flood Determination
Ability to distinguish between regulatory, company, investor and collateral requirements
Ability to analyze large amounts of information
Ability to resolve complex issues
Problem Solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions
Must be self-motivated with minimum supervision
Must be able to work in a fast- paced high volume work environment
Must be flexible and able to change focus on a moment’s notice
Must have a sense of urgency
Must be focused on quality with an attention to detail
Grade 14
3-4 years of experience working in a Consumer, Mortgage, Real Estate, Insurance Agency or other Banking related field.
Grade 16
5+ years of experience working in a Consumer, Mortgage, Real Estate, Insurance Agency or other Banking related field.
