BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY

Prov! ides the following functions for all ASD work locations at multiple work sites located in multiple states as well as overseas;

  • Coordination of accident reporting and workers’ compensation benefits
  • Monitoring compliance with medical surveillance and substance abuse programs
  • Perform activities as liaison for employee assistance program
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Manager, Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health in the essential functions of the Human Resource/Occupational Health Office and when required, administrative or Human Resources services support to fulfill the division contract obligation in accordance with Army Sustainment Division policies, industrial and labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and other regulatory requirements with a concentration in Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Health. Perform the full range of administrative/program services such as (but not limi! ted to) preparation of correspondence and reports to include a! suspense system. Track and prepare statistical reports. Review and answer correspondence. Track and prepare reports related to job function. Investigate and review employee workers' compensation claims reports to determine liability. Investigate accident and/or safety occurrences. Review safety reports and statistics. Assist with negotiations, preparation, evaluation and settlement of workers’ compensation cases with the Manager, Workers Compensation/Occupational Health, employee/claimant, attorney, insurance carriers, and providers to minimize claims settlements. Assist the Manager, Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health in the direction and supervision of the ASD Substance Abuse Program to include monitoring ASD work locations’ compliance with testing, monitoring, reporting, Employee Assistance Program referrals, and follow up care programs where applicable as well as assume the role of Secondary Designated Employer Representative. Assist the Manager, Workers’! Compensation/Occupational Health in managing occupational safety and health standards (OSHA) and practices; health promotion and physical fitness, medical examinations, and minor health treatment.

ASSIGNED TASKS

Additionally, the Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health Analyst is responsible for and has commensurate authority to accomplish the following tasks:

  • Assist in the effective administration of the Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health program for all Army Sustainment Division work locations to include directing medical treatment to ASD approved providers where applicable.
  • Assist in the effective administration of the Return to Work Program at all ASD work locations.
  • Assist in the effective administration of the ASD Substance Abuse Program as it applies to each ASD work location.
  • Assist in the effective administration of the ASD Medical Surveillance Program as it applies to each ASD work locati! on.
  • Assist in the effective administration of the ASD Employee! Assistance Program as it applies to each ASD work location.
  • Assist in coordination of Employee Wellness activities as applicable.
  • Assist in preparation, maintenance, and administration of procedures, policies, records and reports required by the various functions of the position.
  • Assist in preparation, maintenance, and administration of annual Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA) program and required reporting regulations.
  • Assist in preparation, maintenance, and administration of confidential, sensitive, or private information in accordance with company policy, assuming full responsibility against disclosing information contained in or pertinent to such material except as specifically directed.
  • Maintain accurate filing and suspense system. Maintains control of workers’ compensation/medical files and files of matters in progress, and follows up to ensure that management actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Accompli! sh assigned and related tasks with the supervision of the Manager, Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Health.
  • Instruct personnel specialists in job responsibilities, duties and procedures when applicable.
  • Monitor completion of tasks to ensure suspense are met.
  • Participate in and support the Army Sustainment Division Safety Program. Must be proactive in enforcing safety policies of the Company and the U.S. Government.
  • Responsible for the completion of other assigned tasks related to this position as cognizant management assigns them. As applicable, enforces Company, Corporate, U.S. Government agency, and other rules, regulations and procedures towards overall attainment of goals and objectives.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Associate degree in a business or aviation related field with minimum two years’ experience working in a multi-tasked business environment or high school graduate with four or m! ore years comprehensive workers’ compensation/occupational health exp! erience using skills, knowledge and training common to the field. Education may be substituted, in part, for experience at the discretion of the Company. Experience preferred in occupational medical surveillance programs governed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), OSHA Recordkeeping, administrative experience in medical scheduling, physical and drug screen protocols (FAA, DOT, Pre-employment, Workers’ Compensation), and general knowledge in the effective management of Workers’ Compensation claims. Must be proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar rules, English composition, general business practices, and military and business protocol. Must be proficient in computer operating systems used to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with people. A pleasant and professional image is essential. Must be a competent writer and have demonstrated comprehensive experience in general bu! siness operation and knowledge of relevant business practices and policies. Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check (NAC) or a Secret Industrial Security Clearance.
