Internship R&D in ETH Startup (100%, 6 months) [Switzerland]

Lithium-ion batteries are changing the way we live and are vital to the transition to renewable energies. However, the performance of today’s lithium-ion batteries is not where it should be. This is why Battrion has developed a novel fabrication technology for the production of lithium-ion batteries. By changing the orientation of the graphite particles that go into the negative electrode, we can shorten the charging time and increase the power under heavy load. On top of that, we can make the production of lithium-ion batteries more sustainable.

Your main duty will be the production of prototype cells. Additional duties may include working with our 3D printer, specifying components, assisting in the lab and in production, including process documentation, developing software with python, designing parts in CAD, and carrying out test protocols.

• Assisting in the production of prototype cells
• Assisting in the R&D development
• Assisting in the production and characterization of our fast-charging electrodes and cells

Requirements

• You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, physics, or chemistry
• You are available for a full-time, 6-month internship
• You enjoy working in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment

Our location: Battrion’s office and production facility are located in Dübendorf, just a short walk from Bahnhof Stettbach and a few minutes by train from downtown Zurich.
