Executive Assistant

Location: Birmingham, Alabama

Description: Protective Life Corporation is at the momment seeking for Executive Assistant right now, this career will be presented in Alabama. More details about this career opportunity kindly see the descriptions. Protective is adding an Executive Assistant to support the Legal Department in our Birmingham, AL corporate headquarters. This position will support our SVP for Government Relations and SVP, Chief! Compliance Officer.

Job Responsibilities Include:
Scheduling/preparing materials for meetings and conference calls
Managing calendars/contacts for both attorneys
Documents/correspondence: proofreading, scanning, preparing, faxing
Travel: scheduling/coordinating/expense reports
Maintaining billing through CounselLink, invoicing through ScanOne
Assisting other secretaries in answering telephone calls to the Legal Department
Communicating via telephone, e-mail and letters in an effective and professional manner with directors, officers of the company, other company employees, and customers, (including policyholders and agents) and government officials
Handling special projects, creating/updating complex and detailed PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets.

Required Skills / Experience Include:
Minimum of 8 years' experience as an executive assistant performing complex, highly detailed wo! rk under deadlines
Extensive experience using computer ! software including: Microsoft Office Suite 2010 - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent verbal/ written communication skills
Coordinating travel plans
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with colleagues, executives and government officials
Requires attention to detail in all areas of job and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to work under tight time constraints and prioritize work accordingly
Willingness to work weekends or evenings upon request
Excellent organization and follow through skills
Excellent spelling/grammar skills to ensure accurate proofreading
Extensive experience developing presentations using PowerPoint/Excel
Ability and willingness to adapt to and learn new technology
