Job duties:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to the protection, safeguarding, and security of judicial branch work force, visitors, and assets in the Kansas Judicial Center
- Lead the formulation of security goals and objectives and ensure these are accomplished within prescribed priorities
- Design, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and programs
- Plan, direct, and coordinate emergency management, disaster response, or crisis management activities
- Serve as Continuity of Operations (COOP) manager in the management and development of the Kansas Judicial Center COOP plan
- Develop plans and assist with providing security at events
- Assist judicial districts as necessary with the development of plans, policies, or procedures or response to incidents or threats or emergency management
- Facilitate the development and management of statewide data systems capable of reporting incidents and readiness
- Facilitate participation in statewide, regional, or local security/emergency planning, training, and exercises
- Manage and maintain Judicial Center access control system and key distribution
- Serve as project leader for projects of varying scope and duration
Required education and experience: Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Administration of Justice, or related field of study, and two or more years of experience in security programs, or law enforcement experience
Preferred qualifications: Court, law enforcement or legal experience and knowledge of court procedures is preferred.
