Under supervision of the HR Manager, assist with various academic & staff personnel in a large department with 48 regular faculty, 41 staff, 18 Visiting titles, 30 student workers, and approximately 25 part-time/temporary faculty in accordance with University personnel policies and procedures. Analyze all employment situations and advise on employment options such as career, limited-appointment and contract employment agreement positions. Initiate and complete all hire transactions for employees & schedule fingerprinting appointment with UCPD, where applicable. Review and process UCPath payroll and personnel transactions for staff, academic researcher engineers/visiting research engineer, and student staff appointments. Perform monthly payroll and accrual reconciliation and work with applicable campus offices and employee to resolve all discrepancies. Analyze visiting title requests (Undergraduate Visiting Students, Visiting Graduate Researchers, Researchers, Project Scientists, Professors) and advise on appropriate title, visa type, and all related matters. Independently manage all visiting titles and monitor all appointment payroll and personnel records related to each. Assist with quarterly remission fees for both residents and non-residents. Verify student status and eligibility based on GPA, unit enrollment, candidacy status, and hours worked. Analyze, coordinate, process, and monitor all requests for visiting appointments/renewals, faculty dossiers (promotions, merit increases, 4th-year appraisals, appointment renewals, and five-year reviews). Review each case thoroughly and ensure accuracy using the School's detailed checklist and submit all pertinent documents to the HR Director once case is fully completed. Analyze all joint appointment and Multi-Location agreement requests and coordinate the successful processing of each case.
