Description: Regions Financial Corporation is employing Paralegal - Problem Asset Management Group right now, this position will be settled in Alabama. Under general supervision, provides professional legal support service to attorneys in the form of legal research, drafting of legal and ! business communications and general file management. Coordinates with internal and external counsel on handling litigation or threatened litigation matters. Communicates and coordinates with associates in other lines of business (LOB) to gather information needed to defend the bank in litigation or threatened litigation matters. Maintains litigation or threatened litigation matter files and case management records. Communicate with LOB owners as needed to update on the status of cases. Prepares documents in response to discovery demands in Regions litigations or threatened litigations. Organizes documents received from opposing parties. Prepares exhibit sets for depositions, hearings and/or trials.
Qualifications
Problem Asset Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented paralegal to join their legal team. This position supports the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel of the Problem Asset Management Legal Group.
Dra! ft and edit legal and business communications
Manage ! matter statuses and reporting
Act as liaison for bank’s counsel in management of matters
Prepare settlement request packages
Coordinate discovery requests
Manage and route incoming legal notices and correspondence
Work closely with PAM officers regarding the legal aspect of their credits
Assist with maintenance of law firm billing system
Coordinate and maintain litigation holds through e-discovery system
Manage bank’s ongoing compliance with and training of IRS Tax Form 1099A and 1099C
Requires a Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate and three years law firm/in-house counsel experience. Prior experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, workout/debt restructure, and litigation. Collection experience is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
