Collision Estimator

Description: Group 1 Automotive is presently looking of Collision Estimator right now, this position will be settled in Alabama. Group 1 Automotive, a leader in automotive retail and collision repair is looking to add temporary, qualified COLLISION ESTIMATORs to our New Orleans area dealerships. This is a 60-day contract and! we will provide reimbursement for lodging during this assignment. Compensation will be $5,000 to $7,500 a month based on experience.
Position Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):
Generate customer vehicle damage estimates accurately and clearly with an industry standard estimating system. Transfers this information accurately to a repair order.
Writes a complete and accurate repair order describing the customers complaint or requested work. All repair orders will contain a minimum of the customers name, address, phone numbers, e-mail address, VIN, description of the vehicle, plate number, notations of prior body damage, accurate complaint statements, and the owners signature as authorization to complete repairs. (If we are unable to secure the owners signature, the authorization will be secured before delivery to the customer).
The Estimator will attempt to close the sale on all estimates either written by the shop or furnished b! y our insurance company partners. The estimator will track the! closing ratio on these estimates and try to maintain a closing ratio of at least 80%. A summary of this activity will be turned into the center manager on a regular basis.
Inspects each vehicle with customer as needed to confirm prior or unrelated damage.
Establishes customers method of payment prior to repair completion.
Schedules appointments that will load shop following the scheduling process and according to the Collision Managers forecast.
Accurate time promises will be given to each customer. Using the method recommended by the manager.
A customer file will be created by the Estimator that contains the Hard Copy of the Repair Order, the estimate, Power of Attorney form, insurance forms, and all other necessary information.
The Estimator will update the customers on their vehicle status on a regular basis, confirming call back times with each customer. These call backs will be kept in a log or a sheet that can be monitored by the body shop man! ager. A call back summary will be given to the manager on a regular basis.
Handles all technician flagging as it applies to their Repair Orders, or the Repair Orders of the manager in his absence.
Completes all customer billing as directed by the Body Shop Manager. A summary of all work to be billed for the current business day will be given to the manager at the beginning of that day.
Repair orders on completed jobs will be checked for accuracy before the customer is contacted to arrange a delivery time. The expected items on all repair orders will include the Complaint statement, Cause statement, Correction statement, accurate parts prices, accurate labor charges (including flags), and accurate estimate that has been communicated to the customers prior to work authorization by the customer.
Arrange follow-up calls with the customers that warrant this follow-up.
Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
The Estimator wi! ll be responsible for the collection of all receivables generated from ! their Repair Orders. All receivables that remain uncollected after 60 days will create an adjustment to that Estimators pay.
Requirements (includes, but are not limited to):
High school diploma or one year certificate from college or technical school; and more than three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, insurance company representatives, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as labor and parts charges on estimates.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal! with several abstract and concrete variables.
Valid driver license in the state that you live in and a good driving record.
