Buyer Duties: Will be responsible for procurement activities supporting Information Technology (IT) for company's corporate supply chain customer groups to ensure that overall risk is properly controlled or mitigated. Daily duties will include working with internal customers to source products and services and contract with selected suppliers. Activities will include: development and issuance of inquiry packages - RFP's (Request for Proposals),! organizing, attending and leading project meetings and pre-bi! d meetings, evaluation of proposals, development of contracts and negotiation of commercial and legal terms, issuance of purchase orders, post award activities ensuring all documentation is filed properly, and complying with all other Supply Chain Management policies and procedures.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or Pre-Law preferred. Law degree is highly preferred. Formal education in contract language and law is highly preferred. Experience in the field of IT related Software, Infrastructure, Suppliers, Contracts, Licensing, Legal and Negotiations in lieu of such formal education are acceptable. Broad knowledge of contract negotiation is required. Familiarity with IT agreements, particularly in software licensing and web hosting is a plus. Knowledge of Maximo, Emptoris, and Browz desired. Candidate must have the ability and determination to support multiple projects under tight deadlines. Excellent organizational skills are requ! ired to plan and manage assigned workload and customer expectations effectively to meet internal business unit requirements. Ability to think strategically and apply broad seasoned judgment to decisions. Strong customer service skills. Superior analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills to develop cost effective and advantageous contracts. Superior oral and written communications to successfully negotiate contract terms and write such contracts in a clear, logical and concise manner; and ability to tactfully work and participate in cross-functional and cross-company teams at all levels in the organization to ensure buy-in by multiple companies when working on system projects.
