Health and Safety CoordinatorPosition Description: Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through operational supervisors.Responsibilities: Maintains Worker’s Compensation claim records and other Safety related records in a fashion that allows for quick access and detailed reporting.Ensures compliance with all state and federal Worker’s Compensation laws and regulations.Compiles periodic reports associated with Worker’s Compensation claims and work related injuries. Communicates weekly with insurance adjusters responsible for handling ongoing claims on behalf of Satellites Unlimited, Inc. insurance carriers to reduce lost time.Compiles, reviews, ensure completion of, and reports safety related claims to all required entities.Compiles, maintains and enters safety related claim data into a common database.Provides weekly communication with and guidance for employees involved in Safety-related claims. Ongoing follow up through entire resolution and closing of claim.Assists with planning and implementation of loss prevention, risk control, and safety policies and procedures in compliance with all Satellites Unlimited, Inc. Safety programs and local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Assists with planning, development and implementation of programs to train managers and employees in Satellites Unlimited, Inc.

Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and loss control issues, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Oversees Satellites Unlimited, Inc. Transitional Duty Program, to include providing guidance and necessary documents to local leadership teams, and at least weekly communication with, and guidance to, the leadership teams to ensure that the program is being implemented as originally intended.Monitors medical treatment at a minimum of once weekly and maintains medical records on employees that have been injured while on the job, and communicates any unusual circumstances with the Satellites Unlimited, Inc. Safety Team, and other entities involved in the claim. All handling of Safety related records must be done so in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, including HIPAA.Maintains a reliable process for after-hours communication as needed, in order to help assist with Satellites Unlimited, Inc.
