SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The incumbent will pro-actively work with the engineering staff to prepare electronic sketches, drawings and other technical documents within the governing quality assurance program and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and development of lift systems and their components.
Interface with other engineering staff effectively to ensure the form, fit and function of designs while also working with fabrication managers to ensure cost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.
Collaborate with the engineering staff to produce design sketches and drawings in accordance with applicable standards. Accurately incorporate welding symbols and tolerances into design drawings.
Originate and/or review! structural analyses, prototype test processes, operations pro! cedures, and reports using computer-aided engineering (CAE) and appropriate computer software (Solidworks).
Review and verify design drawings and other technical documentation prepared by others to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit and function.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automated drafting and 3-D Modeling CAE systems required. Experience with SolidWorks Modeling Software preferred.
Hands-on experience with design, engineering and/or fabrication of welded components preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Writing must be clear and unambiguous.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.
An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.
This position requires travel (10%).
