Position Description:
As an Insurance Fraud Desk Investigator, your responsibilities will include:
o Investigating suspicious insurance claims or suspicious insurance related activities covering all
lines of business involving claimants, agents, brokers, attorneys, medical providers, etc., to support the Claims
Organization for the pursuit of appropriate remedies through the civil or criminal justice system.
o Gathering facts on issues in question through open-ended interviewing and statement
taking of witnesses, employers, claimants and other relevant witnesses.
o Obtaining and preserving physical and documentary evidence to support investigations.
o Preparing objective and concise written reports of inves! tigations when necessary.
o Testifying and presenting evidence at administrative and criminal court proceedings as required.
o Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with insured’s, claimants,
witnesses, attorneys, corporate employees, criminal justice agencies, and the general public.
o Identify, create, and complete fraud training for various lines of business supported by Chartis.
o Completing targeted claims reviews for all lines of business within Chartis domestically as
assigned. This includes analysis, documentation of results and suggestions for improvement.
Position Requirements
o Strong analytical decision making, problem solving, and communication (oral and written) skills.
o Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize case load with limited supervision.
o Demonstrated abilities in time management and establishing priorities.
o Understanding of insuran! ce terms and policy interpretation.
o Ability to organize data and write investigative reports.
o Advanced knowledge of criminal and civil justice systems.
o Ability to alter workflow to create and pursue leads that would support a fraud case.
o Ability to work to tight timelines when necessary.
o Advanced working knowledge in investigating specialty lines of insurance a plus.
o A minimum of 3 years insurance fraud investigative experience or ten years of general
investigative related experience essential.
o Four year college degree preferred.
o PC skills and experience with various database search systems.
*********PLEASE NOTE CANDIDATES CAN BE BASED IN ANY PART OF THE UNITED STATES AS THE PERSON WILL BE WORKING FROM HOME BUT MUST BE COMMUTING DISTANCE TO A LOCAL CHARTIS CLAIMS SERVICE CENTER.
