JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to identify and implement administrative solutions for the Disability Management Department. This is accomplished through working closely with other department team members to accomplish the mission of the department in providing disability management services to the employees primarily in Alabama.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Duties include, but not limited to, processing of FMLA documents and other disability records, maintaining confidential medical records, developing medical correspondence, input and reporting with computer databases (such as CRM, RiskMaster, SHIPS, etc.),and processing of invoices. This position will require handling of incoming phone calls and walk in traffic to the department, including some emergency medical situations. Must be able to promote team! work, have customer oriented attitude, maintain confidentialit! y, take initiative, be dependable, and act decisive in supporting the department with administrative services such as phone calls, mail, typing, and filing. Working knowledge of computer applications such as Web Applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required. Working knowledge of medical terms and information to support medical professionals in documentation activities is preferred.
This position will be filled at one of the levels of the Administrative Assistant job family based on experience and qualifications.
Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be able to handle highly confidential information in a secure and appropriate manner. Must be able to interact with all types of employees and to produce quality work in a timely and accurate manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate FMLA including initial intake, processing FMLA requests, development of correspondence, and proper retention of ! supporting documentation. Effectively utilize the CRM system and other data base applications to efficiently track and report on FMLA activity.
Assist with the new hire medical examination process, as needed.
Provide data input and review of information for accuracy to maintain data integrity.
Along with the other administrative staff, provide support for the
Disability Management Consultants, HR Analysts, Disability Mgmt. Supervisor and the Disability Mgmt. Manager, as needed.
Provide support for the accurate retention of medical records for the corporation (including retrieval, replacement, and purging) according to record retention schedules of the corporation.
Along with all departmental staff, manage incoming phone calls, walk in traffic, and correspondence preparation.
Process invoices for accounts payables of departmental activities.
Send correspondence and make phone calls to Company personnel, ! insurance companies, attorneys, and doctorsâ offices, as needed.
